Comfort food but make it summer! This Southern Tomato Pie recipe is savory, crunchy, creamy perfection!
Ingredients:
- 5-6 Georgia grown tomatoes, sliced 1/4″
- 1/2 cup green onions, sliced thin
- 1 Tbsp. oregano
- 10 fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 9 inch pie crust
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp. parmesan cheese, shredded
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Layer tomato slices, basil, and onion in pie shell. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper.
Combine shredded cheese and mayonnaise together. Spread mixture on top of tomatoes and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
Bake until lightly browned, about 30 minutes. Allow to rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
