Peel Cooked Sweet Potatoes
- Poke holes along the top of raw sweet potatoes. Bake them at 450 for 45-50 minutes.
- Once cool enough to handle – start by cutting off both ends of the sweet potatoes.
- Use a knife to cut down the center (vertically) of the skin.
- Gently fold back both sides of the potato.
- Work your way around the entire potato, rolling and peeling the skin as you go.
Peel Raw Sweet Potatoes
- Scrub before peeling to remove any dirt or bacteria on the skin. Completely dry potatoes before peeling.
- Remove both ends of the sweet potato
- With a paring knife or vegetable peeler, remove the skin in long continuous strokes around the sweet potato from root to tip.
A Few Helpful Sweet Potato Tips to Remember
Rinse your sweet potatoes in cold water – hot water will cook part of your potato.
Wait until you are ready to use your potatoes before rinsing. Rinsing too early causes them to absorb water and rot.
