Apple Cobbler
Ingredients
For Apples:
- 6 apples, cored and sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- juice of 1/2 lemon
For Cobbler:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 stick butter, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice in a large bowl and set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Incorporate butter into the dry ingredient mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs, then stir in egg and heavy cream.
Pour apples into your baking dish and top with dollops of dough. Brush dough with egg wash.
Bake about 1 hour until golden brown and bubbling. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving!
