Classic Stuffed Peppers
It’s comfort food season, and these old-fashioned stuffed bell peppers are just that!
Ingredients
- 4 green bell peppers
- salt & pepper to taste
- ½ cup white rice
- worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. garlic powder, or more to taste
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
Directions
Cut the tops off of your peppers and clean out the insides. Mix chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, rice, worcestershire sauce, egg, and ground beef.
Stuff mixture into empty peppers and place in the bottom of a large pot. Pour tomato sauce and diced tomatoes into the bottom of the pot and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to a simmer, place lid on the pot, and allow peppers to cook for 1 ½ to 2 hours, basting regularly, until peppers are tender and meat is cooked.
