Slow Cooker Apple Butter
How many of you have a fresh loaf of homemade sourdough in your kitchen right now? Dress it up for fall with this yummy crockpot apple butter for the perfect treat!
Ingredients
- 4 lbs. Honeycrisp apples
- 1 ¼ cups apple cider
- ½ cup real maple syrup
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- ¼ tsp. cloves
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions
In the bowl of your slow cooker, combine apples, apple cider, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours. Stir halfway through cooking. Transfer to a blender and puree until smooth.
Return to the crockpot and cook uncovered on high for 1 to 2 hours until slightly thickened. Taste and adjust sweetness level to your liking by adding more maple.
