Warm Turnip Greens Dip

A twist on a classic favorite! We all love Spinach Artichoke Dip, but this Warm Turnip Greens Dip recipe might give it a run for its money!

Ingredients

  • 5 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 16 oz. package frozen chopped turnip greens, thawed
  • 12 oz. cream cheese
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to broil. Cook bacon over medium-high heat until crisp. Reserve 1 tablespoon drippings in the pan.

Saute onion and garlic in hot bacon drippings, for 3 to 4 minutes. Add wine, cook, and stir 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in turnip greens, cream cheese, sour cream, red pepper flakes, salt, and 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese. Cook 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until cream cheese is melted thoroughly.

Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese.

Broil for 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned. Sprinkle bacon on top and serve with assorted crackers and/or flatbread.
